Financial aspects

You are probably realizing that infertility touches many facets of your life -- the physical, the emotional, the social, and the financial. Determining what you can afford may drive the decisions you make and ultimately the course of fertility treatment you choose.

In many cases the investment pays off – many infertile couples who pursue fertility treatment succeed in having a baby, however, the treatments are often expensive and place a significant financial burden on the couple.

Your health insurance plays an important role. Some couples have insurance that completely covers their fertility treatments while others only have partial coverage. Unfortunately there is also a segment of people who have to pay for their fertility treatment and other expenses out of their own pockets. Whatever your situation, making sense of the insurance maze is a critical task.
