Testing And Diagnosis

If you and your partner have been having difficulty conceiving a child, you may want to consider fertility testing. The age and cycle pattern of a woman will play a part in determining when fertility testing should be considered. Familiarizing yourself with the male-specific and female-specific fertility tests, which have been outlined in this section, will provide you with a good foundation as you move forward in this fertility journey.

Most likely, once you and your partner have completed fertility testing, your healthcare provider will be able to determine what is preventing you from conceiving. Unfortunately, in some cases doctors are unable to pinpoint the exact cause of infertility. This is called unexplained infertility, and despite the fact that the actual cause is not known, there are still several fertility treatment options that may increase your chance of conceiving.

A concrete fertility diagnosis can offer peace of mind. Some may feel relieved to finally have answers, and others may feel frightened and worried about what lies ahead. However, the outcome of a diagnosis is more often than not positive -- roughly two out of three couples that seek medical intervention give birth.

The information here talks specifically about infertility symptoms, diagnosis and fertility treatment options. Working together and knowing as much as you can about the condition(s) will help you and your partner stay focused and in control throughout your fertility journey.
