Questions To Ask

Hopefully the cause of your fertility problems can be determined after an initial workup. The healthcare provider will ask you many detailed questions about your medical history and your personal lives.

You will have many questions as you go through fertility testing. It’s a good idea to keep a notebook handy to jot down those questions as they arise, and bring that list to appointments. You can use this checklist as a starting point for developing a list of questions to ask about:

About The Doctor
  • What is your experience in treating infertility?
  • What is the experience of the fertility centre and laboratory you use?
  • What approach will you take?
  • What are your success rates for patients my age in your program?

  • How soon can you start the testing?
  • Which tests will be done?
  • What’s involved in the test recommended?
  • How long will it take to complete the testing? Are there “benchmarks” to look for to determine whether further testing is necessary?
