Selecting A Fertility Center

Before beginning in vitro fertilization (IVF) or any Assisted Reproductive Technology, prospective patients should learn as much as possible about the clinic they plan to use. The following questions will help shed light on the clinic’s success rates, basic guidelines and payment requirements:

  • What are the clinics live birth rates for my age group?
  • How many IVF cycles are canceled before egg retrieval? Before embryo transfer?
  • Does the clinic have an age limit? For what reasons?
  • Does the clinic cryopreserve embryos?
  • What is the multiple birth rate?
  • What counseling and support services are available at the clinic?
  • How much will the procedure cost?
  • When is the payment due?

This list is a good place to start, however the questions that you ask depend on your individual concerns.
