Multiple Births

Finding out you are pregnant after struggling with infertility is the ultimate dream come true. It is an emotionally charged time filled with joy, fear, hope, relief and excitement.

However, it is common for couples who needed fertility treatment to also be somewhat concerned about the possibility of having multiples. While quadruplets, quintuplets and septuplets may make headlines, 97% of multiple births are twins.

It is important to remember that expecting more than one baby does put you at a higher risk of premature labour and other pregnancy complications.

For further information on the risks associated with multiples, speak to your physician.
