Anovulation is the medical term used for when a woman does not ovulate. Ovulation is the release of mature eggs from a woman’s ovary and is a critical part of the reproductive process.

Anovulation is a condition that can occur without any symptoms. The most common symptom is an extended period of time between each menstruation. Amenorrhea (the absence of menstruation) may signal anovulation, as well as an inconsistent basal body temperature (BBT).
